Noise

Our goal is to limit and, where possible, reduce the impact of aircraft noise. Over the past 50 years, aircraft have reduced their noise output by 75% and this progress continues: the newest aircraft on the market have on average, a noise footprint that is 30-50% that of the aircraft they are replacing thanks to new engine and airframe design and technology.

Our 2013 Noise Road-Map (currently being updated) outlined how we would reduce noise, in real, measurable terms to benefit communities across the UK whilst delivering significant growth to 2050.
